During my road trip on October 5, I stopped at Walmart for a quick break. While some might choose a convenience store, I find Walmart more convenient for its larger selection of Paleo-friendly foods. It’s easy to find items like tuna pouches, smoked salmon, fresh vegetables, fruits, nuts, and seeds. I always check the nutrition labels to ensure the ingredients are clean and fit within my mostly Paleo diet. This time, I picked up a Honeycrisp apple, a tuna pouch, and some carrots. I considered getting a rotisserie chicken, but it had maltodextrin listed as an ingredient. Since I follow the Paleo diet 99 percent of the time, I’m still deciding if it’s something I can overlook.
I’ve had stops at convenience stores before, though the options are more limited. You can still find some Paleo-friendly snacks like nuts, seeds, and occasionally fresh fruit. I’ll share more about my convenience store experiences in the future. No matter where I shop or what I buy, I always make sure to check for clean ingredients, as that’s important to maintaining my 99 percent Paleo lifestyle.
I totally get choosing Walmart for a road trip stop! It’s awesome that they have so many Paleo-friendly options in one place. I like that you’re careful with the ingredients too—it’s always tricky when something like maltodextrin sneaks in. Honeycrisp apples are one of my favorites as well! Looking forward to hearing more about your convenience store finds in the future!
Thanks so much for your comment! Yes, Walmart is super convenient, especially when you’re on the road, and it’s a relief to find Paleo-friendly options all in one place. I agree—those sneaky ingredients like maltodextrin can be a challenge, but it’s all about reading those labels! And yes, Honeycrisp apples are the best! I’ll definitely be sharing more about my convenience store finds, so stay tuned!
